Boredom is Evil

Boredom is evil
The silent enemy
Unseen, it creeps into the corners of the soul
Boredom makes its home
In the lonely mind

In the dwellings of the idle one
Boredom is the foe
It feeds on the lie - I've got a lot of time
Boredom is evil
For it points its fingers and says: " it's your fault"

Half this battle resides in the mind
Maybe more
Where is the strength?
For I am weakened
I feel the pain
I know not where

Can someone relate to this?
Where's that shoulder?
For to offload, this burden be
Yes, I need The Burden bearer
And fast, at that

God help me
Mercy! Mercy! Mercy!
This soul cries out!
Come to my rescue
Save me from myself

A glimpse!
Only a glimpse of light will do
Strength to be still
And to stand
For if You're here
Then I'm blinded

I question the progress
Which way have I gone?
Forward?
Backward?
I blame this evil
Boredom!

Open then these veiled eyes
I want nothing else than to see Your face
No doubt Your presence consumes this foe
Boredom has no place in Your dwellings
Bring me then into Your most inner court
Take these eyes and fix them on You

Where else can I fight this enemy
If not on bended knees
How then can I defeat this foe
If not from a heart of surrender

And so I arise
And press through this troop
Scaling this wall,
As I draw upon grace
This care Lord, I cast upon You!
